Katniss Everdeen is a girl living in Panem, a futuristic place a lot different from here. There is an annual event called the Hunger Games where kids fight to the death. Randomly, 2 kids from each of the 12 districts are chosen to fight, one boy and one girl. Katniss’ sister Primrose is chosen. Katniss loves her sister, so she volunteers in her place. Katniss hunted where she used to live, and has the drive to fight, but killing doesn’t sound fun. This book is kind of violent, but is very well written. If you’ve never read this book, you should!
