Holes by Louis Sachar
Holes is about a boy named Stanley that gets arrested for stealing shoes but they were wrong.
They came out of the sky and hit him from above,they were from a homeless shelter and were going for auction and someone stole them.
He was arrested later that day but Stanley got a choice to go to jail or go to camp Green Lake.
He chose camp Green Lake because his family was poor due to a bad inventing idea by his dad that has spent a lot of money on old shoes.
His plan was old shoes could be reused to make new shoes but he didn’t have much luck.
if something bad happened they would blame it on his grand father.
so back to the camp Green Lake you would think it would be how it sound with a big lake and a dock with boats well there is actually only 2 trees and a hammock in between them but only the warden could sit in them.
the point of camp Green Lake was that every day they would dig a 5x5 hole 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep and then after they did that they would go back to the camp and rest for tomorrow.
There was a guy that they all called zero because he didn’t like to talk and could not read,Stanly made friends with him.
Zero was the fastest hole digger ever,he would also dig holes for Stanley but they put a stop to that.
One day something happened to Zero but it would be a spoiler so i can’t tell you.
he ends up getting a lawyer and the evidence showed that Stanley did not steal the shoes and was brought back to his family.
