Sammy is very caring because when his sister is in the hospital he is very worried about her. Sammy worries about his sister’s SCID which stands for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease. This makes it so that when she has friends over they have to wear a mask. That is why when Maddie is sick and at the hospital Sammy thinks… “Totally scared about Maddie and her fever and how hard it was for her to breathe and whatever is going to happen next!” (page 107)
